Last of the Rebels I don’t want to settle down I don’t want to buy a house I don’t want to be a corporate stooge I don’t want to do what they want me to Chorus Last of the Rebels and it’s so uncool If you don’t have a skull tattoo Put on your leather jacket and parade it around Last of the rebels just fade into the crowd All the rebels have died and gone Now I am left here all alone You try to be so unique You’re just the flavor of the week Chorus I don’t want to be a drone And start going with the flow I just want to be autonomous And live a life that isn’t meaningless Chorus
2.
Wish I was nineteen again Well I‘d go out drinking with my friends Not a care in the world Going to the bar looking for girls Chorus All my friends are getting married I’m just getting drunk They’re all wearing suits I’m just being a punk All most got married long time ago Well she took everything that I own Maybe I should’ve gone back to school But I didn’t know the golden rule Chorus Now I’m too old and grey And too much time has gone away This could be the end Because I don’t even have a girlfriend Chorus
3.
Devil Eyes 03:56
Your devils eyes are staring at me This isn’t the way it’s supposed to be You’re so easy to get excited You’re just like a stick of dynamite Chorus And I knew why you had to go Because we never got along And all we did was fight And I know it ain’t right I’m so tired girl but I can’t sleep Thoughts of you are haunting me I’m not always the one to blame Because affliction is your middle name Chorus Your devil eyes are driving me insane All they ever do is bring me pain Early on I must have been blind Now I can’t get you off my mind Chorus
4.
Far Away 03:23
Well I’m leaving on a train baby I’m going far away I’m leaving on a train I won’t be back again I’m going far away Chorus Far away from this misery Far away from this pain I’m leaving on a train I won’t be back again I’m going far away Why did you leave me so unhappy? Why am I feeling insane? I’m not going to play your games I know that I’m to blame I’m going far away Chrous Well I know it won’t be easy Well I guess I’ll be ok You know I want to stay I’ll forget you someday I’m going far away Chorus
5.
Everybody’s getting hooked on drugs Everybody wants to be a thug But they’re all so fake And they think they’re so great Chorus The gangster killed the rock star Now we’re not going to go very far The gangster killed the rock star Now I’m not going to need my guitar Everybody’s gotta dress in black Everybody’s gotta have a Cadillac But those rims don’t mean a thing Because you still can’t play and you still can’t sing Chorus It’s too late to start a band Because all the girls they don’t understand They only want to listen to the DJ Who plays thirty five that all sound the same. Chorus
6.
I gotta go 04:16
There is a bar at the edge of town Where all the cool people used to hang around Why did they all go away? Will they come back someday? Chorus Well everyone says Jay stop your bitchin Because trying to leave is my mission I don’t want to be sucked into this black hole Well I’ve leaving baby I gotta go The factories are all torn down There is not enough jobs to go around The taxes keep on going up The government has become corrupt Chorus This city is falling apart They don’t know where to start Is there a stop to all this pain? When will things start to change? Chorus
7.
I met a girl in cyber space She was really cool I couldn’t see her face She had a crazy name like a license plate She was a million miles but just a click away Chorus I’m an internet junkie I can’t get away All my friends think I’m strange Well I really don’t care what they say Because I’m an internet junkie 24 hours a day Well I’m never gonna buy another CD I’m gonna go online and download the Mp3 I can get all the songs all the porn I need I don’t ever have to leave my PC Chorus
8.
Mr.Hate 02:46
Well I know who lives out west Everything he does he thinks it’s the best He’s got a negative look on society He’s full of animosity Chorus Mr. Hate He’s got no friends Mr. Hate They wish you were dead Mr. Hate He’s going to die alone He’s got no heart he’s got no soul 123 go Mr. Hate wants to put you down He’s most paranoid guy in town He don’t care about no one else He’s only infatuated with himself Chorus Mr.Hate wants to get revenge He’ll get his in the end What else is he supposed to do? He only wants to get me and you

There is something going on in my brain It’s going to drive me insane It’s kind of wild It’s strange It’s not going to be on MTV Come on down to my hood I don’t know do you think you should ? You know you want it because it’s so good I only asked because I knew you would Ahhh it’s something strange Every night I think of you What else am I supposed to do I can’t stop it’s making me blue I don’t know do you feel this way to? The music is what keeps me alive Without it I would surely die I don’t know to give up or try I ‘m tired of hearing all your lies Ahh It’s something strange
11.
Sorry 03:54
Time goes by so slowly Without you I feel so lonely I wish I could of change the things I said I wish you were here instead Chorus I wish we could go back and change my ways I wish we could find away to fill this empty space Maybe in another life I might learn from my mistakes Next time around I might see you again someday We both have to keep moving on And all I hear is sad sad songs And pictures of you fill my head Sometime I wish that I was dead Chorus I’m sorry if I ever hurt you With out you I feel so blue I wish I could go back in time And give it one more try Chorus
12.
It’s getting hot out side The oceans are starting to rise Run for your life Because we’re all gonna die Go warn the youth Bullets are flying around They’re going to gun you down Everyone’s fucked up in the head Why don’t they kill themselves instead? Go warn the youth Chorus Everybody is complaining Everyone is sitting around I keep thinking When are they going to figure it out? Stocks are on decline You’re going to lose your mind You’re going to lose your job And move in with your mom Go warn the youth Chorus The politicians are corrupt I think we’ve had enough They’re full of lies And they’re all in denial Go warn the youth
13.
I don’t want to settle down I don’t want to buy a house I don’t want to be a corporate stooge I don’t want to do what they want me to Chorus Last of the Rebels and it’s so uncool If you don’t have a skull tattoo Put on your leather jacket and parade it around Last of the rebels just fade into the crowd All the rebels have died and gone Now I am left here all alone You try to be so unique You’re just the flavor of the week Chorus I don’t want to be a drone And start going with the flow I just want to be autonomous And live a life that isn’t meaningless Chorus

about

The Lower Town Trio puts a hard-driving bright brash spin on rockabilly music. Formed in Buffalo, NY by front man, singer, and guitar player Jason Van Cleve, The Lower Town Trio mixes original music with their own spin on the classic rockabilly genre. “We’re not just dusting off the old classics and playing them like the originals,” says Van Cleve, “instead, we’re delving into the roots of what rockabilly is and doing them Lower Town style.” Lower Town style is high energy, with catchy hooks and melodic overtones that fans have come to appreciate and love.

The album of originals titled Last of the Rebels which includes elements of rockabilly, psychobilly, and heartbreaking love songs. These tunes are crisp and sharp and have catchy hypnotizing hooks that almost fall into the pop genre, but are still raw and hard driving.

Van Cleve’s line-up is always moving. Originally the line-up included his brother Chris Van Cleve (formally of The Quakes and currently playing slap-bass with the Celtic-punk band 1916) on drums and the great Ryan Hurley on bass. Younger brother Jeremy Van Cleve has also been in the rotation as their drummer as well. Currently, the live shows have been with Sal Ianello on bass and Michael Haggerty on drums, both formally with the rockabilly/surf band Blue Rocket Trio.

The Lower Town Trio is just some good ol’ rock and roll!
